Paradev
At USV we now work alongside agents all day. They run in our terminals, browsers, servers, apps, and chats, across many harnesses and using many models. Most of us aren't working with one agent, we're working with several at once, and soon it will be dozens, or hundreds, or more.
As model performance crossed a major milestone about a year ago, especially in the realm of coding, the major question has shifted from “can agents do this work” to “how do we manage a team of them?” How do we assign them work, review what they produce, keep them out of each other's way, and form them into a highly functioning team?
We don't think anyone has figured this all the way out yet. This is why we're excited to lead the seed round in Paradev, formerly known as Superset.
Paradev is a system for orchestrating many coding agents in parallel. You bring the agent or harness you already use (Claude Code, Codex, Pi, or others), the compute you already have (or soon, the Paradev cloud), and Paradev handles the organizing. As Paradev CEO Kiet Ho puts it: "Lawyers have paralegals, doctors have paramedics, and developers have paradevs." The prefix para- means "beside," and it's the same root as parallel. A paradev works beside you, many times over.
When we wrote about the Rebel Alliance this summer, we said that as more agents do more things in more places, orchestration will become the essential control plane. We also believe that orchestration layers that are open, and that work with any model, any harness, and any machine, are the most likely to gain long-term developer adoption, especially in the enterprise. Paradev is open source and agent-agnostic by design. Less than a year in, hundreds of thousands of developers have used Paradev, including teams at 1 in 8 Fortune 500 companies.
Today, Paradev empowers builders to summon agents to build features and fix bugs, in parallel, at great speed. Next, those agents will collaborate with each other and with their humans, learning from every change they ship, every review they fail and every bug that reaches production. By connecting the work agents do with its outcomes, Paradev can help them get better at the next task. Over time, that brings us closer to a world where software can improve itself, and where every developer is the most capable version of themselves.
We’re thrilled to lead Paradev’s $11.5M seed round alongside a great group of funds and angels. Founders Kiet, Satya and Avi are locked in, close to the customer, and pioneering what’s next when it comes to building software in the agentic future.
