Our Commitment
In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment for all members of our community, we are committed to maintaining safe, trusted spaces for all USV Network members, alumni, and other members of our community.
We have a strict policy against harassment, regardless of race, color, religion (including religious dress practices and religious grooming practices), national origin, sex, gender, gender identity and/or expression, genetic predisposition or carrier status, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and related medical conditions), marital, parental, registered domestic partnership or military or veteran status, sexual orientation, citizenship status, victim of domestic violence status, or any other basis prohibited by applicable laws.
Our Principles
Our Network Guiding Principles acknowledge our commitment to safe spaces for all Network members. Whether engaging with other members of our community in person or remotely, every participant is expected to exhibit behaviors that contribute to a positive environment.
Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment include:
- Leading with kindness and an open-minded attitude
- Using welcoming and inclusive language
- Showing respect for people with different backgrounds and experiences
- Using discretion when confidential information is shared
- Showing empathy for other members of our community
Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:
- The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Public or private harassment
- Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or electronic address, without explicit permission
- Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
Event Attendees and Guests
All attendees of USV Network events must register in advance. Any guests or +1 attendees for USV Network events must be cleared by the Network Team. All guests are expected to register in advance, and guests (as well as their sponsors) are expected to abide by the same Code of Conduct. Failure to comply may result in removal from a Network Event or a temporary or permanent ban on future attendance.
Reporting Discrimination and Harassment
Any member of our community who feels that he or she has witnessed, been subject to, or become aware of any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation should immediately notify the USV Network GM, Bethany Crystal at bethany@usv.com.
If you would like to file a report anonymously, you can either call XXX-XXX-XXXX or text XXX-XXX-XXXX.
All complaints will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. The Network Team is obligated to maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident. Further details of specific enforcement policies may be posted separately.
