10gen sponsors the open source MongoDB project, and provides commercial support for MongoDB. MongoDB (from "humongous") is a high-performance, open-source, schema-free non-relational database. It brings together the best of key/value stores (which are fast and highly scalable) and traditional relational databases (which are deep in functionality). MongoDB is being used in production at several large sites including Sourceforge, Disqus and Business Insider.
